People cannot thrive without hope. When you take it away work becomes pointless. Relationships fragment. Meaning is hard to find.
For those who follow Jesus, hope is not tied to something fragile like a paycheck, health, a friendship, or a government policy. For Christ-followers, there is a hope that is linked to the teaching and work of Jesus Christ as the one who came to reconcile us to God the Father.
In the days of the prophet Isaiah, the hope was in the future. For us today it’s tied to the past and to what Jesus accomplished for us. This week we look at both perspectives as we learn about this promised hope from Isaiah chapter 9.
