MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)

A place to find encouragement, support, relevant teaching, and opportunities to develop relationships

Are you a mom of young children? Would you like to connect with other moms? Then join us for MOPs and meet other women who are in the same life phase as you. Our hope for MOPS meetings is that you will find encouragement, support, relevant teaching, and opportunities to develop relationships with other women who are in the same season of life and be encouraged in your walk with Jesus. We are confident that, as you become more involved in our group, you will be better equipped to face challenges that motherhood has to offer. We create safe, welcoming spaces where women encounter the love of Jesus lived out in the lives of other women. We use our lives as tools to point people to Jesus and love moms where they are in whatever season of life they are in. Our ultimate goal is that through encouragement, support, forged friendships and transparent lives woman would be pointed towards Jesus. For questions, contact our church office at (515) 733-5360.

Meetings

MOPS meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month during the school year, from 9:15–11am at Harvest. (We only meet once during each winter month; November – March). Each MOPS meeting has a small fee of $5.00; scholarships are available upon request. We would love for you to join us!

What happens at a meeting?

A MOPS meeting includes practical teaching through speakers, demonstrations, and videos. Our leaders have well-thought-out fun or funky crafts and service projects. Plus, there’s usually food … most of which you probably didn’t make! But more importantly, you’ll get to have honest conversations with other moms who understand the joys and frustrations of motherhood.

How are meetings planned?

Moms from the group volunteer to serve on the steering team. These women spend many hours planning enjoyable and beneficial meetings, and they are committed to making MOPS mornings special. There are many opportunities available to become involved in the planning and organizing of MOPS.

What do you offer my preschooler?

Children are cared for in a program called MOPPETS. Newborns to 24 months are in a nursery-like setting. Children ages 2-6 are involved in various activities including: music, crafts, stories and free play. The MOPPETS program is a preschool-style experience your kiddos will love! Although some moms prefer to keep their littlest ones with them, when you bring your children with you to the meeting, they will be assigned an age-appropriate classroom with our experienced and dedicated MOPPETS teachers. We have classrooms with fun and relevant Christ centered curriculum and crafts tailored for each age group.

Why does Harvest support MOPS?

We know when churches reside in a community, profound things happen. Oftentimes, the people who need Jesus the most are uncomfortable walking through the doors of a church on a Sunday morning. MOPS gives you a place to invite these women who will come to MOPS because they want to be better moms. MOPS is a missionary endeavor that partners with your church, through a group, to reach your community one mom at a time. – MOPS international
